Kim Ki-duk, Lee Mi-kyung Among New Academy Award Voters

Director Kim Ki-duk and CJ Group vice chairwoman Lee Mi-kyung on Thursday joined the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Academy is the U.S. industry organization that awards the Oscars each year and has about 6,000 members.
Cinematographer Chung Chung-hoon, who worked on "The Handmaiden" and "Thirst" with renowned director Park Chan-wook, was also among the 774 new members.
Last year, actor Lee Byung-hyun, directors Park and Lee Chang-dong, and DreamWorks cinematographer Jhun Yong-duk joined the academy's illustrious ranks.
