Synopsis
"Notes from the Last Row" is a suspense drama series about Heo Moon-oh, a grumpy literature professor and failed writer who discovers untapped genius in Lee Kang, a mysterious student seated in the last row of his class. This triggers Moon-oh's obsession with the boy's extraordinary gift for writing, drawing the two into secret one-on-one sessions that soon spiral into dangerous territory. Choi Min-sik plays Moon-oh, who hides a lifelong insecurity over never becoming the writer he dreamed of being, while Choi Hyun-wook portrays Lee Kang, the prodigiously talented student who reignites Moon-oh's dormant passion. Huh Joon-ho stars as Kim Soo-hoon, the successful writer whose career has long deepened Moon-oh's sense of failure, while Kim Yunjin plays his wife, Ahn Eun-joo. Jin Kyung plays Jo Hyeon-sook, Moon-oh's wife, quietly observing as her husband mentors a student for the first time. These intertwined relationships set off an unpredictable chain of events, delivering tightly woven, high-intensity suspense throughout. Based on the critically acclaimed Spanish play El Chico de la última fila, the series brings together director Kim Kyoo-tae ("The Trunk", "Our Blues", and "It's Okay, That's Love") and writer Jang Myeong-woo, who contributed to the adaptation of the film "My Mother, The Mermaid".
