Synopsis
In April 1980, a large-scale uprising occurred in Sabuk, Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province. Over 3,000 miners, who had long suffered from surveillance and exploitation, seized control of Sabuk and directly clashed with the authorities. Just before martial law forces were deployed, negotiations were settled, preventing a violent bloodshed. However, throughout the process, many people were harmed. More than 40 years have passed, but the wounds remain unhealed.
