Synopsis
Yang-hwa, cast out of her in-laws' home for being unable to bear a son, now lives in a secluded annex deep in the mountains. She falls into deep sorrow after being separated from her infant daughter due to the betrayal of her servant, Seol-ah. Jeong-jin, a close friend of her older brother who is staying in the guesthouse, comforts her, and the two gradually fall in love. As they secretly share their affection, Eun-sil, Yang-hwa's friend, happens to discover the truth. Seong-gyoo, Yang-hwa's suspicious husband, tries to coax the truth out of Eun-sil, but out of loyalty to her friendship with Yang-hwa, she refuses to reveal it. When Jeong-jin learns of this, he warns Eun-sil to keep quiet — but in return, she asks him to teach her about love and intimacy. Caught between Yang-hwa and Eun-sil, Jeong-jin faces a painful dilemma.
