Pusan Comedy to Feature Hollywood Stars

Actress Kelly Hu, best known for her portrayal of the sexy yet deadly Yuriko from "X2", will join "American Pie " star Chris Klein in Korean film director Chin Won-suk ' s upcoming action comedy "Expat, " Yonhap News Agency reported.

Chin said that he would start filming the new action comedy in September in Pusan.

"What I want to do is challenge Western prejudices about Korea through film", Chin told the agency at Cannes, where he was attending the Cannes Film Festival. "The movie will narrow the emotional gap between Hollywood and Korea".

Chin, who studied film at the School of Visual Arts in New York, directed "Too Tired to Die " (1998), a black comedy about a Japanese student living in the East Village.

"Expat" will be set in the southern port city and tell the story of a group of foreigners who plan to rob a bank, only to get in trouble with Korean gangs and the Russian mafia. The film will be produced by Pliny Porter, who has been involved in such Hollywood films as "Stepmom" (1998) and "Runaway Bride" (1999).

Jared Harris, who appeared in "Ocean's Twelve (2004)", and Korean-American actor John Cho will also be part of the cast, according to Chin.
