Singer Park Ji-yoon Marries Kakao Chief

Singer Park Ji-yoon tied the knot with Joh Su-yong, co-CEO of messenger giant Kakao, last month, it was belatedly revealed.

The couple had a private wedding in late March with only their families in attendance, according to Kakao on Monday.

Joh, who is well known for designing Naver's iconic green search bar, had been in charge of design at Korea's largest portal before moving to Kakao in 2018.

Park made her singing debut in 1997 as a teenager and enjoyed great popularity with a number of hits until the early 2000s. She took a break from the music scene for some six years before returning in 2009 with an album on her own label. Last year, she released the instrumental album "Journey".
