"BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky", which will be aired on Oct. 14, charts the K-pop group's rise to the top of their game in four years after their debut in 2016 through interviews and sketches of their lives at home, backstage and in the recording studio.
"We look forward to sharing our stories with the Blink [BLACKPINK's official fan club] around the world through the documentary on Netflix", the group said.
BLACKPINK's latest single, "Ice Cream" featuring Selena Gomez, entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 13 on Tuesday, the highest rank ever by a Korean girl group.
With BTS' "Dynamite" topping the U.S. chart for two weeks in a row, it is the first time two K-pop groups have been on the Hot 100 chart simultaneously.
BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" and their collaboration with Lady Gaga, "Sour Candy", all reached 33rd place on the Hot 100 this year. They first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018 with "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du", which reached No. 55.
BLACKPINK will release their first full-length album, "The Album", on Oct. 2. Over 800,000 pre-orders were placed in the first six days from Sept. 28.
