Veteran Actor Lee Moon-soo Passes at the Age 76

Veteran actor Lee Moon-soo, known for his work in dramas such as tvN's "Signal" and major stage productions including "King Lear", passed away after battling lung cancer. He was 76.

According to the Korea Association of Theater Actors on the 29th, Lee Moon-soo died the previous night at a hospital in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022 and had been receiving treatment while commuting to the hospital.

After graduating from Seoul Institute of the Arts, Lee Moon-soo joined the National Theater Company of Korea in 1989 and appeared in major productions such as "The Ordeal", "Prince Yeonsan: The Problematic Human", "Death of a Salesman", "The Seagull", and "King Lear". He also delivered strong performances in film and television, including the 2010 film "Hello Ghost", SBS's "King of Ambition" and tvN's "Signal". In 2010, he received a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recognition of his contributions.

He is survived by his wife Yoon Se-sook, his son Lee Joo-mong, and daughter-in-law, Lee Yeong-hwa. A funeral wake has been set up in Room 2 of the funeral hall at Hanyang University Seoul Hospital. The funeral procession took place at 8:20 AM on December 1st.
